Last week I saw an ad from the Commonwealth Club announcing that Tim would be speaking in Palo Alto on Monday afternoon, October 18th. WhooHoo! (Perhaps reminiscing about his win over the Phillies? Discussing his pitching style?) I snapped up a $25 ticket.
Then I read the confirmation email. It said Tim GEITHNER was the speaker. Not Tim Lincecum. Drat. That’s what happens when you don’t put on your reading glasses.
But I think I’ll attend the event anyway. I’d like to implore him to kindly relinquish his cabinet position to Elizabeth Warren.
Then Geithner could slither back to Goldman Sachs and tell his fellow slimies there’s a new sheriff in town and perhaps they should all get the hell out of Dodge before the showdown. (That showdown being the one where the sheriff in the white hat blasts the crap out of the cowardly dastards in their oversized black hats (which obscures their vision but allows for their ginormous egos) and oversized moneybags hanging at their sides (which obscures their ethics but allows their ginormous greed).
But back to the more fun and BETTER Tim: Mr. Lincecum.

If I were a betting woman—and I’m not—(the only thing I bet on is how good a new pair of shoes will make me feel)—I’d put $10 $5 on my team today—the underdog San Francisco Giants vs that other team. I bet Timmy can “catch the lightning,” which will spark his teammates. I think the Giants’ bats will get the job done. I believe Pat Burrell can lead the Giants to victory!
Today at 4:57 pm I will start singing my original Giants Fight Song—loud enough to drive the Phillies fans from the stadium (holding their ears).
