Attention People Magazine Editors: On behalf of the women of America who think SEXY means being a REAL MAN, our nomination for Sexiest Man Alive is Admiral Thad Allen – Retired Coast Guard Admiral and current National Incident Commander (of the Unified Command for the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico.)

A man who can take charge. A man with the ability to step up to the plate and mitigate a disaster—in this case a man-made disaster of biblical proportions.

- Be tough with the yahoos at BP.
- Deal with the politicians in Washington.
- Decipher the scientific/engineering/environmental complexities of the spill and translate them to the general public.
- Show compassion to the devastated Gulf Coast residents.
- Display a high level of competence that provides reassurance to Americans that there will be a satisfactory conclusion to this entire mess.
Plus, Admiral Allen does it all with humbleness, intelligence, and aplomb. Now THAT’s sexy!
He’s passionate about his work and dedicated to getting the job done right. In these trying times, he’s trying to make America better for Americans. Now THAT’s sexy.
Plus, there’s THE VOICE. Have you heard Admiral Allen speak? Great voice. (Seriously, you could listen to him talk all day about capping wells.) Listen to him on the Diane Rehm Show. He’s articulate and courteous. Now THAT’s sexy!
Admiral Allen has a terrific personality. He exudes confidence and is devoid of ego. Now THAT’s sexy!
He’s a LEADER with personal power. He has the “it” factor—a charisma that draws you to him. I don’t know about you, but he makes me want to cheer:
“Thad, Thad, he’s our man. If he can’t fix the Gulf, no one can! Yeeaah, Thad!”
Lastly, Admiral Allen is cool under pressure and wears a cool uniform. Now THAT’s sexy!
What more can a gal ask for? Oh yeah. After this whole ordeal is over, Admiral Allen is taking his wife to Ireland. What a guy!
To the editors: Only bimbos are attracted to himbos. It takes a real woman to appreciate a REAL MAN. I hope such women constitute the editorial staff at People Magazine.
