How adorable are Prince William and his fiancée Kate Middleton? I see sweetness and light and all the promise in the world on their faces.

I remember how heartbreaking it was to watch William and Harry walk behind their mother’s casket in that long funeral procession through London. I wondered when they would be happy again. William definitely looks happy today! Giving Kate his mother’s famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring is very touching.
This ring should be luckier in love the second time around.
He and Kate seem like a terrific couple—personalities well-suited to each other; same educational background (at St. Andrews University); have already spent many years together. They seem like a couple that will last.
Chuck and Di didn’t. But through all the drama and constant media glare, they still managed to do a terrific job as parents in raising their sons.
But now the spotlight is on this couple. Doesn’t everyone love a fairytale wedding—especially when it’s a royal one? I’m looking forward to all the details—especially the bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses. I’ll be watching the entire procession and ceremony on TV. (I would also like to see William’s uncle, Charles Spencer, toast the newlyweds. Wasn’t his eulogy to his sister Diana a barnburner? I’m sure it burned some royal bums!)
Like William’s parents, I’m guessing William and Kate will get married at Westminster Abbey—as befitting a future King of England—and go all out on the pomp and circumstance. It will be good for Britannia. And good for romantics the world over.

P.S. I hope Princess Diana is watching. I wonder if she’s saying to herself, “Jolly good! I remember when Wills had a crush on Cindy Crawford when he was 14 and being the fantastic mum I was, I invited her to tea at Kensington Palace so he could meet her. And Granny threw a fit, naturally. But doesn’t beautiful Kate look similar to Cindy? Wills obviously has inherited my good taste–and not the rottweiler choice in women as ol’ what’s his name. And just because a person is dead, doesn’t mean their feelings are.”
