Loudmouth Pants – How to Improve Your Golf Game

Have you seen the slacks John Daly wears on the PGA Tour? They’re a brand called Loudmouth Golf. The prints are amazing. They are GUARANTEED to improve the fun level of your golf game. But I have no idea what they’ll do for your skill level.

John Daly wearing Loudmouth Pants at the British Open, July 2010. The print is called Cotton Candy -- and I do believe that is a fuchsia pink!

I really love these pants—even at $95 (pricey for my pocketbook)—but so much pizzazz! I’m thinking of taking up golf (for the 358th time) just so I can “legitimately” wear them. But what the heck, I’d wear them anyway.

And if you’re really in to these styles, you can buy the matching sports coat ($325), shorts ($75), shirts ($65), sun visor ( $18)—or women’s slacks ($95) or shorts or mini-skort ($75)—so you and the gal pal can be twins?

But GOOD LUCK trying to buy a pair. ALL the online golf apparel sites are sold out almost entirely—except for a waist size of 26 or 48 for men or 0-4 in women’s sizes.

If they had my size, I would buy the print called Pazeltine. It was named after the debut wearing by John Daly at the 2009 PGA Championship at Hazeltine Golf Course. The “P” stands for paisley. Love the purple color.

In addition to the lack of normal sizes for men and women available to purchase, GOOD LUCK trying to find a size chart. As any woman will tell you, the way a size fits in one brand means absolutely nothing to another brand.

ATTN: Women’s On-Line Clothing Retailers: A SIZE CHART for PANTS must include the waist, hips, inseam, and rise to get an accurate fit.

How many on-line apparel sellers provide this information for their customers? MAYBE 2%?? Do these places NOT have any women working for them? Is it too much trouble to actually measure their clothes? Yeesh….

Back to Loudmouth: Any company that sells out their product on their own website is a company with poor inventory management. They had to anticipate their spokesman, John Daly, playing the British Open last weekend MIGHT induce more interest in their clothes—and possibly more sales. Where was the planning in case that happened? Do they think that someone interested in golf pants over the weekend still has the same purchasing interest the following week? The longer the inventory shortage, the less chance that sale is going to be made. Interest wanes. Along comes the next new thing….

I think I’ll wait for the purple pants to show up on EBay for less than retail. AND after I have tried them on at a golf shop. (Like I have time for that!) Because as far as I could discern (after an hour checking out Loudmouth sites) the brand gets mixed reviews. Some people love the “lightweight material.” Some say the “fabric is cheap” and destined to shrinkage and lots of ironing. Some say the pants fit true to size, while others say they run really small.

Or maybe I’ll forget all about these wacky slacks…

Then again, these are a little hard to forget…
