What to Wear: Try Oprah’s Magazine Cover Outfit

Here’s the new cover of O Magazine for August 2010.

Oprah Mag Cover 232x300 What to Wear: Try Oprahs Magazine Cover Outfit

Cover girl Miss Oprah Winfrey models a "budget" ensemble.

When I saw it I said, “Hey, I can put together that outfit.”

Tone Oprah 208x300 What to Wear: Try Oprahs Magazine Cover Outfit

Toni Dockter models her own bargain clothes.

And I did it cheaper than Oprah’s clothing stylist. The clothing brands and costs (and for accessories, too) are listed on Page 36 of the magazine.

Oprah’s pants: Ellen Tracy (from Macy’s) – $80

My pants: Talbots on line – $49 (on sale)

Oprah’s blouse: Isaac MizrahiLive (from qvc) – $70

My blouse: Nine West (from Ross) - $20

Oprah’s cardigan sweater: Banana Republic – $70

My cardigan sweater: Jones New York (from TJ Maxx) – $25

Oprah’s shoes: Metallic bronze strappy sandals with 4 inch heels (from chineselaundry.com) - $69

My shoes: Metallic bronze T-strap pumps with 3 inch heels (from Aerosoles/EBay) - $30

Oprah’s woven belt: Chinese Laundry – $53

My satin belt with rosette buckle: Nordstroms – $50

Oprah’s watch: AK Anne Klein - $55

My watch: A gold flex-band kind that runs on solar power (no battery) so it NEVER poops out. Prolly about $100. Plus my watch matches the gold earrings. Oprah’s watch has silver metal on the face. I never mix silver and gold accessories. I think it looks weird.

Comfortable yet cute Aerosoles pumps.

My outfit WINS because everyone knows Aerosoles are way more comfortable than Chinese Laundry sandals with four-inch heels!

To Miss Oprah: If you’re looking for a bargain-basement shopper gal to find cool but inexpensive clothes—I’m your girl!

P.S. Speaking of Oprah and clothes…

Do you remember last March when Oprah staged her “Clean out your closet” campaign? Well, I bought Oprah’s skirt! Yikes. It cost way too much but it was FUCHSIA colored and I really liked it. See my blogs dated 3/11, 3/18, and 4/17/10.

Here’s the skirt:

Used to be Oprah's. Now it's mine!

A few weeks ago I finally found the PERFECT top to go with it. Check it out!

BluMarine Front 200x300 What to Wear: Try Oprahs Magazine Cover Outfit

Knit sweater from BluMarine, an Italian label (and way too pricey unless you get it on EBay).

BluMarine Back 200x300 What to Wear: Try Oprahs Magazine Cover Outfit

Back of BluMarine sweater. Love the floral print and all the detailing!

Now, if I just had somewhere to wear this snazzy outfit!

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what they’re talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe you’re not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
