[NOTE: This blog was supposed to have been posted last night but my bandwidth bit the dust...]
Yesterday was my 200th blog. And do you know what that means, boys and girls? No, YOU don’t get a prize. I do! (Oh pipe down and go write your own blogs. And don’t you dare spill your juice boxes on me. This is a cool outfit.)
As I mentioned before on 1/03/10, the reward system in my house is one new pair of shoes per 100 blogs. (OK, sometimes I get a pair on the 50s…but don’t tell!)
A few weeks ago on a trip to the dermatologist, I wore the 100th Blog pair of shoes—which are pointy-toe satin pumps by Bandolino, in a black and white floral print. I wore them with ankle jeans and a black and white floral brocade jacket. The medical assistant who marched me back to the examining room took one look at my outfit and said in a snotty tone, “Aren’t we matchy-matchy today.”
Like faded olive green baggy scrubs are attractive! Sheesh.

Universal Law 101 -- One can NEVER have too many cool shoes.
Here is my 200th Blog pair. I love the heel—kinda Victorian and not too high—and the pleated leather detail on the side. Don’t see that too oftern. It’s hard to tell the color, but they’re dark eggplant purple. The shoemaker is BZ. Moda from Spain and the label is “Everybody,” (available at Nordstroms, but the FW bargain shopper buys them at either Amazon or Endless for 50% off. Be patient. They will go on sale!). I like this brand because the leather is buttery soft. This is my seventh pair of Everybody shoes—but don’t tell!

Everybody shoes are for everybody!
I “matchy-matchy’d” them with a pair of magenta jeans, magenta tank, magenta floral sweater, and purple purse. I thought I looked very FuchsiaWomanish—going for the ‘berry grape look’, which is kinda like the ‘very great look’—only more fruity.
And where did I wear this delightful ensemble? To a book reading in Petaluma (north of San Francisco) to hear the even more delightful Anne Lamott talk about her new novel.
I received some strange looks from the women in the bookstore. I guess Anne Lamott fans don’t care for a magenta-purple combination. Humph. Sure beats drab.
BTW, a blog about this book event coming soon….guaranteed to be interesting…
